Location
Pembrey Country Park
The park is set against the spectacular backdrop of the Gower Peninsula and overlooking the coastal scenery of Carmarthen Bay, providing a superb blend of coast and countryside. The railway and club house are set in around 202 hectares of glorious parkland, next to one of the best beaches in the UK.

The Llanelli & District Model Engineers have a unique arrangement with the Park Authority that to date has worked extremely well. The Local Authority own a 5″ Dolphur which is run by the club during public running weekends, the authority also has a petrol engine model “Cefn Sidan” that is used to run a service to the public during the summer.
Visitors interested in model steam engines and examples of other motive power will enjoy the sight of the miniature locomotives working on the railway. Scale model engines, usually 5 inch gauge, are run by the club on the first weekend of every month, and also on bank holiday Sundays and Mondays.
